En pleins progrès, comme en atteste sa récente très facile victoire acquise en terrain lourd, sur l'hippodrome de Paris-Longchamp, Maquignon ne devrait pas s'arrêter en si bon chemin. Nouveau succès envisageable, à l'issue d'un déroulement de course sans encombre ! Venant de dicter sa loi ''à réclamer'', Southwest Harbor tentera de lui donner la réplique, avec aussi Isotta, représentant un bon rapport ''qualité/poids'', prise 33 de valeur, au départ de son 1er handicap, Royal Monarch, qui affronte une opposition moins relevée cette fois, et Super Quartz, venant de bien se comporter pour le compte de son nouvel entraînement (confirmation attendue !).
